One Northern Arizona community continues to add to its growing sport’s identity. Fans in Prescott Valley are developing a minor league niche with the addition of yet another professional team.
The success of the Arizona Sundogs, a pro-hockey team, has now paved the way for minor league basketball. The Arizona Rhinos tip off their inaugural season next month.
Businesses in Prescott Valley are already reaping the rewards. The town has seen a 22 percent sales tax revenue increase since a new arena, the Tim’s Toyota Center, opened in 2006.
In addition to hockey and basketball, an indoor football team has also moved in.
