Prescott #3 on list of 25 best places to retire

Arizona and the Sunbelt dominate the 2008 list of the 25 best places to retire from Topretirements.com. Some surprising small towns did make the list, though, including the college town of Oxford, Ohio.  Topretirements – Find Your Best Retirement Community  
 Brand name recognition is very important when it comes to choosing a retirement community. Baby boomers gravitate to towns that have a reputation as a ‘best’ place to retire.  

Madison, CT (PRWEB) November 12, 2008 — Arizona, with 6 of its towns making the 2008 list, is the most popular state for retirement on the Topretirements.com list of the 25 best places to retire. Not surprisingly, the Sunbelt dominates the top 25. Medium-sized cities are popular, and the best small towns making the list included Prescott, Arizona; Paris, Tennessee; and Oxford, Ohio. Asheville, North Carolina; which was the #1 retirement town on Topretirements’ 2007 list, repeated as a runaway favorite.

Topretirements published a list of the top 10 retirement towns in 2007. San Diego, Austin, and Phoenix all moved into the top 10 for 2008. Green Valley, Arizona had the distinction of being the only active adult community on the list.

Topretirements’ best places to retire list is compiled by calculating the 25 towns with the most online visits at the site for the most recent 6 month period (May-October 2008).
