Homeowners are quickly finding out that a home can be listed without a Realtor. A buyer can find a home on several listing sites without a buyer. So what good is a Realtor?
Many homeowners and buyers don’t realize that Realtors are also there to keep them compliant. Home sellers need a Realtor’s expertise in listing their home and disclosing all that they need to protect themselves. Home buyers need a Realtor’s expertise and advice in locating experts to ensure that the home they are buying meets standard codes and is free of major defects.
I have told many clients that going into a home sale without a Realtor is much like going to trial without an attorney. Can both be done? Yes. Do you want to go through a trial or homes sale without professional advice? No.
